Founded in San Jose, TerraEd grew from a group of highly motivated students who developed their skills through real engineering challenges, industrial methods, and competition in the FIRST suite of programs.

Pratik Lokesh

Pratik Lokesh

Founder & Coach

Pratik has been coaching and mentoring teams for over 8 years. As an alumni of TerraBats, Pratik has years of competitive robotics experience leading the team to the FIRST Championship. With a passion for mechanical design and manufacturing, Pratik is the lead coach for TerraED FTC and FLL. Currently in his third year at the University of California - Santa Cruz, Pratik is working on his B.S. Electrical Engineering degree.

Rajani Sankarappan

Rajani Sankarappan

Coach

Rajani brings over 12 years of experience coaching student teams and combines a strong foundation in engineering with a deep passion for education. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Education, and currently serves as a dedicated teacher. Rajani has been an active member of the PTA for more than a decade, taking on leadership roles as a board member and chairperson. She is committed to empowering students with real-world skills and is passionate about nurturing learners who are accountable, self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of critical thinking.

What is Terra?

A name rooted in where we came from

Terra translates to “earth.” The name also connects back to the well-known FTC team TerraBats, whose students and mentors helped inspire the creation of TerraEd.

TerraEd’s mission has always been to provide high-quality STEM curriculum while helping shape the next generation of innovators.
